Libby's Café + Bar: Thriving and Staying Open
Series of unsubstantiated rumors about closing have no merit

A series of false and unsubstantiated rumors regarding Libby's Café + Bar closing have been circulating in blogs and in a recent issue of Living Out East that have no merit. Finishing up its second year in business, Libby's is here to stay and has out performed its opening year, including continued local and national honors and awards as one of Sarasota's Best New Restaurants and dining values.

“It's disheartening that these kind of rumors get started without any verification from any of Libby's partners,” said Joe Seidensticker, GM and co-owner of Libby's “We are having a banner second year and finished the season with a marked increase in our business over our opening year. Libby's is here to stay,” Seidensticker added.

Recently debuting new seasonally focused summer dining and bar menus, Libby's fresh-from-market creative comfort food has a new and lighter twist, both in menu options and price options. From small and large plate entrees including $5 Summer All Stars to Libbypops in the bar and daily drink specials during Happy Hour from 4 to 7 pm, there's a range of options for diners. Providing a value for experience and food quality along with personalized service remain paramount to the Seidensticker family and its seasoned staff of servers, many of whom have been with the restaurant since opening.

About

Offering a comfortable and contemporary neighborhood-style atmosphere and featuring seasonally prepared, creative comfort food, Libby's has won over the hearts and palates of diners since opening in October 2008. Zagat rated and an Open Table Diner's Choice, the restaurant has also been honored with more than 40 “Best Of” reader's and editors' choice awards. A sought-out dining and social gathering place, two bars also provide lively options for drinks, happy hour or sports viewing, where guests can stop by for a quick bite or meet for an evening out of cocktails and small plates.

Location

Located at 1917 Osprey Avenue in Southside Village, Libby's is open seven days a week for lunch, happy hour, dinner and Sunday Brunch. The restaurant opens at 11:30 am Monday-Saturday and 10:30 am for Sunday Brunch. Complimentary parking is available across the street in the Morton's parking lot.
